03/04/2011 Mid Kent College

VoDkA here, of TEAM R3D to report on Mid Kent College, Medway, Kent.
Myself and Casper set out at around 10:15AM today to attempt to explore Mid Kent College before it is demolished, and after an hour long walk there we were greeted by alot of smashed windows and barbed wire fences. Instantly, we knew this would be harder than we first thought and so we went around the front to see if there was another point of entry. There were just more barbed wire fences and being on a busy main road, we thought better than to risk being compromised. We then proceeded back down the alleyway opposite the Campus to have one last look around and get some decent pictures to show the state it was in. Afterwards, we took a seat on a nearby fence, adjacent to the rear side of the Campus. We noticed a medium sized fence (climable) which had the barbed wire removed via Binoculars. While Casper was attempting to gain entry, I was keeping an eye out for any Security, and happened to notice curtains moving and what appeared to be movement. I warned Casper of this, and so we went back to the fence to see what emerged.
Out of the building emerged a suspicous looking Male wielding what appeared to be a broom handle. We zoomed in on him and still couldn't tell what he was doing there, so I went over to him.
He was a member of the security team who watch the site, and I asked whether it would be possible if we came in anyway to have a look around and get some photo's before it is demolished but he hastily declined.
He then went on to tell me that there are "six large dogs" which guard the site with him and he also asked if we would move away from the site, so we obliged.
We managed to get a few photos of the site, and the guardsman:

Another look at the fence and campus from the alleyway.

The front of the campus, a nice two metre high fence on a main road.

Vigilance Properties, the security company who guard the site.

After seeing some movement, we waited on the fence around the back of the campus.

The old asian Security Guard, as we were on our merry way.

We also noticed a small building next to the Campus which had been partially destroyed to make just enough room to enter so myself and Casper went to investigate...
We couldn't figure out what the room was used for, we assumed a shed of some kind, but it was heavily graffitti'd and trashed.

In a field next to this building was a pond which had no water in it. In this field was also an old rusty metal building structure which we photographed anyway.
The pond which had nothing except bricks and old junk.

A warning sign claiming that the pond was dangerous.

We thought to let future explorers know of our presence, before the place is demolished, and we did so in the small trashed building between the Campus and the field, and in a manner which could be otherwise easily removed.

To conclude, we would only suggest going here if there are more than two of you, and if it is dark, assuming the Security and the guard dogs would be gone. Otherwise, this is one which won't be around for much longer.
